Fun Workshop: Pine Cone Creations (11 a.m. Thursday at Fairfield Musuem and History Center, 370 Beach Road, Fairfield): “Workshop for ages 6 – 10. $5, please pre-register. Create your own winter wonderland scene made from pine cones and a seasonal assortment of craft materials.”

Watch real steam rise from a model train that travels around an elevated track. Collector Harvey Campbell will share his knowledge and enthusiasm about how these unique trains work.”

Tech Help With Those New Gadgets and Gizmos (3 to 5 p.m. Friday at Westport Public Library, 20 Jesup Road, Westport): “Did you receive a new iPad, Nook, tablet for the holidays this year? Bring it into the Library and let us show you how to download Library ebooks, audiobooks, or music on your gadget.”
