Tell us a little about yourself:

I was born in Plano, Texas and I didn’t live there for long so I don’t really remember it. I only lived there for a year with my family. After we lived there, we moved to Minnesota, then to Utah and then Japan and finally, Surrey, England. After we lived in England, we moved to Weston. I have a brother who used to hold my position at before he went away to college and he’s actually the one who trained me. His name is Donald and he’s 18-years-old. He’s going to Furman University in Greenville, S.C. I have a sister too and she is 20-years-old this year. Her name is Maria. She’s studying art history in Italy.

Do you remember living in many of the places you and your family had lived?

I remember living in Japan and England.

Why did you and your family move around so much?

My dad works for GE and that’s why we did. He had to relocate a lot for his job.

This is your senior year. Do you plan to attend college after you graduate?

I’m applying to a lot of different schools in D.C., Chicago and Boston. I want to be in the city and I want to be a veterinarian.

After you complete your studies do you plan to move back to Weston?

I’ll probably come back to Connecticut, but I’m not sure about Weston.

How long have you lived in Weston?

I’ve been here for about five or six years. It’s the longest we’ve ever lived in any town.

What is your favorite aspect of Weston?

I really like that it’s small and it does feel like a community. Everyone knows everyone here.

Do you think that being in a city for college will take you out of your comfort zone?

It probably will, but I want life around me. Weston is so far from everything. I like Weston for now, but the city will be a nice change.

What is your best memory in Weston?

Probably after we re-did our house and moved back in. We lived in the house for half of the renovation and then we lived in a hotel for the other half. The day we moved back in, it was the day before I started my freshman year and I was nervous about starting high school. Moving into the renovated house took my mind off of it though.

Do you volunteer when you aren’t in school or working?

My friends and I are doing Catwalk for the Cure this year. It’s our second year doing it. Since we are seniors, we are trying to pass it down to our younger peers that will still be in high school next year. The money goes to the Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center in Fairfield. I also volunteer for Key Club.

How much money did you raise last year?

We raised $6,000 last year.

What inspired you and your friends to start the “Catwalk for the Cure?”

One of my friend’s moms had cancer and when we found out about it, we looked into opportunities to help out.

What do you do for fun in Weston?

I play softball and I am the captain of Weston’s High School team this year. I also like going to fairs and carnivals around Memorial Day.
