The coaching staff and everybody else takes notice toward what the up and coming Falcon is doing.

“When he’s throwing strikes he’s a tough guy to face to the opposition,” Head Coach Jeff Rajo said of the maturing and developing player who has become a prominent force for the Falcons since starting a couple games freshmen year.

The two-year starter finished the 2011 campaign 3-4 individually on the mound while the Falcons ended a rebuilding year at 6-14 overall, just two shy of requirement necessary to qualify for state playoff competition.

Outcomes would have been quite different however, if it weren’t for a few simple errors.

“We’ve had a few misfortunes,” Rajo added. The past season consisted of several close losses for the young Falcons who can only grow on this season for next. “It’s been a lot of tight games."

Such games include those against Pomperaug and Bunnell.

With the season over, optimism for Barer is already building for next season.

“We’re excited to have him,” Rajo said of the soon-to-be senior.
