The 8th grade boys travel basketball team defeated the Danbury PAL Blue team 32-29 in the championship game of the Danbury Holiday Hoop Tourney played at the Danbury PAL center over the holiday week between Christmas and New Year
The team also defeated New Milford 51-43, Brookfield 42-26, and St. Joseph of Brookfield 48-30 after first losing to the Danbury Blue team 26-39 in the opening game of the tournament.

At this early stage of the season the team has an overall record of 7-2, including a 2-1 mark in Fairfield County Basketball League play, which picks up again this week.
Team members are: Corey Levine, Zach Reposo, Josh Friedland, Sam Cox, Ryan Corr, Andrew Hamill, Axel Efinger, Daniel Dolan, John Dolan, Jake Sullivan and Ryan Freeman. Chris Freeburg is the head coach and Dave Corr is the assistant.

Patrick Callahan scored two goals the Barlow boys hockey team remained undefeated with a 3-0 victory over New Fairfield-Immaculate.
Mike Mattson also scored for the Falcons, who improved to 3-0. Thierry Jean stopped 15 shots for the shutout.
Ryan Dobos stopped 26 shots for New Fairfield-Immaculate, which dropped to 0-5-1.

The Staples-Weston-Shelton boys hockey team pulled off a miraculous comeback to defeat Stamford 4-3 in overtime Wednesday at the Milford Ice Pavilion.
Forrest Savage scored the game-winner with 6:20 left in the extra period after the Wreckers tallied twice in the final minute of regulation to force overtime.
Sean Stewart made it 3-2 with 35 seconds remaining before Wyatt Fern beat the clock with a second left to tie it. Fern also registered the Wreckers' first goal in the second period.
Stamford had taken a 3-1 lead on a goal by Zach Fornacciari with just under four minutes remaining in the third period.
The Wreckers, who improved to 4-0, prevailed despite getting outshot by a 50-22 margin. Riley MacDonald made 47 saves for Staples-Weston-Shelton.
Justin Nizolek and Billy Santora also tallied for Stamford, which dropped to 1-4-1. Hunter Alderman made 18 saves for the Black Knights.
