Weston Schools Not Locked Down

While Ridgefield and Redding schools are in lockdown, officials said there's no need to do the same thing in Weston.

While Redding and Ridgefield schools remain in lockdown after receiving reports of a suspicious man near the Branchville train station, Dr. Colleen Palmer, superintendent of Weston schools, said a similar threat does not exist at this time in Weston.

Palmer sent out the following note:

Currently, we have been informed that Redding and Ridgefield are in lockdown due to unconfirmed reports of a suspicious individual in the Ridgefield area.  In consultation with our Police Chief, John Troxell, we have been advised that lockdown is not warranted for our school district at this time.
