Weston School Budget Workshops Begin Tonight

Workshops to be held tonight and tomorrow night.

The Weston Board of Education is ready to get down to business on crafting the 2013-2014 school budget. The school board is holding two budget workshops this week in order to outline budget proposals and get the conversation started.

Tonight—Monday, Jan. 14—the board will hold its first such workshop, which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Weston Public Library. Dr. Colleen Palmer, superintendent of schools, is scheduled to give an overview on the 2013-2014 budget. Other agenda items for tonight's meeting include an overview of the district's instructional program, the needs of its facilities and technological needs.

The board's second budget workshop is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. in the meeting room at town hall. The school board is scheduled to talk about the budget requests for the district's four schools, as well as the requests for its athletics programs.
