'We Hope You'll be Here for Decades and Decades to Come'

The Weston Board of Education gave Supt. of Schools Dr. Colleen Palmer a three-year-contract extension with a 2 percent raise Monday night.

Board of Education members unanimously voted to extend Supt. of Schools Dr. Colleen Palmer's contract by three years Monday, with a $240,781 salary in the first year — a 2 percent increase.

Though it is a three-year contract, Board of Education Secretary Dana A. Levin said the superintendent's salary is negotiated on an annual basis.

"It was a difficult year, but you came through in flying colors," Philip L. Schaefer, chairman of the Board of Education, told Palmer during Monday's board meeting at Weston Middle School. "We hope you'll be here for decades and decades to come."

Palmer said, "It's truly my privilege to serve as superintendent in this community. We have a great partnership here. I look forward to many more years here, serving as your superintendent."

Palmer's new contract runs from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2016.
