Tom Scarice To Leave Weston Schools

The Madison Board of Education has identified Tom Scarice as their next superintendent of schools. Scarice will be appointed following an agreement on compensation. 

“Weston is losing a superlative instructional leader and innovator," said , superintendent of schools. "It was inevitable that someone with Tom’s talent would be elevated to superintendent, and I am confident that Tom will excel in his new position.” 

Mr. Scarice joined in 2008, and has had four years as assistant superintendent. Among his accomplishments, Scarice in collaboration with his colleagues reviewed and improved Weston’s curricula, instituted the new performance and evaluation plan for teachers, and launched the Academic Innovation and Measurement initiative.

"Scarice’s leadership, passion, and skill have been fundamental drivers for the continuous improvement of Weston’s schools, and he will be greatly missed," the press release says.

“Tom is an outstanding assistant superintendent, and we will be very sorry to see him leave," said Philip Schaefer, chairman of the Weston Board of Education. "Tom has been integral to the success of Weston’s instructional and curricular improvements, and we thank him for all of his hard work. We will immediately begin Weston’s search for a new assistant superintendent to facilitate a smooth transition of leadership.”
