School Briefs: March 5

Students earn accolades nationwide.

Elefteria Kastanaras, a sophomore business administration major from Easton was named to the fall semester dean's list at Bryant University.

Virginia Low of Weston, a member of the class of 2014 at Washington and Lee University, has earned dean's list status for the recently ended fall term. In order to be named, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.4.

Claire Freeman, a member of the class of 2015 from Weston, was recently named to the Fall 2011 dean's list at Loyola University Maryland. In order to be named, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its list of full-time students who were named to the Fall 2011 dean's list, and three local students were among those named:

  • John Bucca, of Weston, a member of the Class of 2013 majoring in communication
  • Jason Gussen, of Weston, a member of the Class of 2012 majoring in business information systems
  • Victoria LaTronica, of Redding, a member of the Class of 2013 majoring in social work.

The following students were named to the dean's list for the Fall 2011 semester at Washington University in St. Louis:

  • Jessica Hannah Cohen, of Easton. Cohen is a graduate of Hopkins School in New Haven and is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
  • Lindsey Harris Gersh, of Weston. Gersh is a graduate of and is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
  • Julia Rose Horn of Weston. Horn is a graduate of Weston High School and is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
  • Paul Alfred Carleton Jr. of Easton. Carleton is a graduate of Joel Barlow High School and is enrolled in the university's School of Engineering and Applied Science.
  • Cody Michael Katz of Weston. Katz is a graduate of Weston High Schooland is enrolled in the university's School of Engineering and Applied Science.
