School Briefs: March 4

Weston, Redding and Easton students earn accolades at schools nationwide.

River Kynoch, a resident of Easton, was named to the Fall 2012 dean's list at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass. To be eligible, a student must achieve a 3.25 grade point average or higher, based on a 4.0 grading system.

Kynoch is a Freshman in the School of Education.

The following local students earned term honors for the fall semester at Skidmore College:

  • James Barickman, a member of the Class of 2016. He is the son of Jamie and Hollis Barickman of Redding.
  • Hannah Smith, a member of the Class of 2016. She is the daughter of Craig and Lisa Smith of Weston.

Term honors are awarded for a quality point ratio of 3.650 from a possible 4.0, for students who have completed 14 credit hours.

Kyle Zembsch of Weston was named to Greensboro College's dean's list for the Fall 2012 academic semester.

Students who qualified were degree-seeking undergraduates who completed at least six non-repeated course hours with a term grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Kathryn Derrig of Easton has been named to the Fall 2012 dean's list at University of the Sciences. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a "C" and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the fall of 2012.

Derrig is a doctor of pharmacy student.

Catherine Adams of Redding, a member of the Class of 2016, was recently named to the dean's list at Marist College for the Fall 2012 semester.

Shannon Delaney of Weston has been named to the Fall 2012 semester dean's list at Lafayette College. To qualify, a student must achieve at least a 3.6semester grade point average out of a possible 4.0.

Delaney is a graduate of Hopkins School.
