School Briefs: July 6

Weston, Redding and Easton students earn accolades nationwide.

Huntley Stone, of , graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University. Stone earned a bachelor of arts degree.

Stonehill College recently named Weston resident Kathleen M. Schiffman, a member of the Class of 2012, to its dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester.

Edith Mudge, a member of the Class of 2012 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.

She is the daughter of Grant and Kristin Mudge of Redding.

Mudge earned a bachelor of arts degree summa cum laude at Skidmore's 101st commencement May 19 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. In addition, she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, the national honor society that exists to encourage and recognize outstanding individual achievements in liberal education. Mudge earned honors for academic work completed during the spring 2012 semester.

The following students have been named to the president's sist at Western New England for the Spring 2012 semester. Students are named to the President's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher:

  • Albert A. Cortina of Easton, a junior majoring in electrical engineering.
  • Greg B. Colby of Easton, a graduating senior majoring in mechanical engineering.

The following hometown residents were named to the Dean's List during the spring 2012 semester at Salve Regina University:

  • Marisa Kocum, of Easton, graduated in May.
  • Gina Vitale, of Easton, is a rising junior.
