School Briefs: July 16

The University of Rhode Island recently announced that four local students qualified for the Spring 2012 dean's list: 

• Anthony Smith, of Easton
• Zachary Alexander Palmer, of Redding
• Alex Sullivan, of Redding
• Julia Churchill Schoellkopf, of Weston

Lauren Daigh, of , graduated cum laude from the University of San Diego. Daigh earned a bachelor's degree in accountancy. Kevin Carey, also of Weston, graduated from the school, earning a bachelor's degree in marketing.

Goodwin College recently held its commencement ceremony, and two local students were among those named:

• Redding resident Katherine Carter
• Weston resident Robert Oborenko

Genevieve DiBartolo, of Redding, graduated from the University of San Diego. DiBartolo earned a bachelor's degree in communication studies.

Greg B. Colby, of Easton, received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering degree from Western New England University.

Edward Hutchins, of Weston, was recently named to the dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester at Gettysburg College.
