School Briefs: July 13

Weston, Redding and Easton students earn accolades nationwide.

The spring semester Dean's List at Bryant University includes the following area residents:

  • Kevin Maiorano, a first Year in undeclared from Easton
  • Katherine Starkey, a senior in international business in marketing from Redding
  • Brian Walsh, a senior in communication from West Redding

Eric Goldstein graduated with a bachelor's degree in cconomics from Colorado College. Goldstein is the son of Myron Goldstein of and Leslie Nicholson of Milford.

Bard College at Simon's Rock announces that Samantha Yarmis of Stamford has earned a place on the dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester. To be eligible for this honor, a student must carry 14 or more credits and achieve a grade point average of 3.5. Yarmis made the dean's list for her distinguished work overall. She grew up in Weston.

Weston resident Marlee Najamy Winnick graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in integrated science and technology from James Madison University during the May 2012 commencement exercises.

Kathryn St. Raymond, daughter of Melanie and Stephen St. Raymond of Easton was named to the dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester at Saint Michael's College. St. Raymond is a first-year theatre majo. Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the dean's list. St. Raymond graduated from Joel Barlow High School.
