School Briefs: Aug. 27

Weston, Redding and Easton students earn accolades at schools across the country.

Beckley Munson Parker, of , was named to the Miami University president's list. Miami University students who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average for Spring 2012 semester have been named to the president's list recognizing academic excellence.

Gina Leon-Paez, of Redding, graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance from La Salle University.

Kathryn Derrig, of Easton, has been named to the Spring 2012 dean's list at University of the Sciences. 

The following students were named to the dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis.

  • Paul Carleton Jr. of Easton 
  • Jessica Cohen of Easton 
  • Julia Horn of Weston 
  • Cassandra Weiss of Weston 

Villanova University named the following students to the dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester:

  • Michael Antonovich, from Weston, is pursuing a bachelor's degree in the Villanova School of Business
  • Sarah Fleischer, from Easton, is studying Accountancy and Information Systems in the Villanova School of Business
  • Taylor Shea, from Weston, is studying English in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Nicholas P. Figliola, a resident of Weston, has been named to first honors on the Clark University dean's list. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Spring 2012 semester. To be eligible for first honors, students must have a grade point average of 3.8 or higher.

The following local students graduated from Villanova University:

  • Kelsey Myers, from Weston
  • Emily Neugold, from Redding
  • Ryan Seymour, from Weston
