Region 9 To Hear Superintendent's Budget Proposal
Dr. Bernard Josefsberg will make his budget presentation to the school board tonight.
The budget process officially goes public for Joel Barlow High School tonight.
At the Region 9 Board of Education's meeting tonight, Dr. Bernard Josefsberg, superintendent of schools, is scheduled to present his budget proposal for the 2013-2014 school year.
"The board does not usually have a detailed discussion at this meeting, as we will just be receiving the details of the request," according to Mark Lewis, vice chairman of the school board. "Detailed discussions on the budget are scheduled for workshops on Wednesday, March 6 and, if needed, on Monday, March 11. The board’s final decision on a budget request to go to referendum on May 7 is usually made at the regular meeting on Tuesday, March 19."

Other agenda items include discussion and possible action on the district's five-year capital plan and various administrative reports, including one from Dr. Tom McMorran, Barlow principal, which will focus on school security upgrades.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the media center at the high school.
