Redding Kids Ask for 'Gun Laws That Make Sense'

In preparation for Hartford's March for Change on Feb. 14 to rally for the passing of "safer gun laws," some of Redding's youngest residents spoke out in YouTube videos.

Some of Redding's youngest residents are asking their parents to help enact gun laws that make sense.

In two videos recently posted to YouTube, the kids are asking for support of the Feb. 14 March For Change rally, which is being held in Hartford to ask for "the enactment of safer gun legislation" in Connecticut, according to the rally's website.

In a video posted to YouTube on Jan. 16, the kids say it doesn't make sense that 700 people have been killed by guns in the United States since last month's tragedy in Newtown.

"Are you kidding me," one child asks.

"You teach us not to fight. You teach us common sense," the kids say. "But where is your common sense?"

"We want gun laws that make sense," they say. "What are you going to do about it?"

The rally is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on the north steps of the State Capitol, overlooking Bushnell Park.

This book really was a great read. And I bet his reading will be quite a performance too. Mr. BlackRead More is not only very, very funny, but very astute too. He's a screenwriter, so it shouldn't have surprised me to find that he is an excellent writer, but I was really impressed.
