Genovese Resigns as Hurlbutt Principal

In wake of a lapse in her credentials, the Weston elementary school administrator has resigned.

Joanna Genovese has resigned as principal of Hurlbutt Elementary School following the lapse of credentials required by the state to hold such a position, Lewis Brey announced Tuesday.

According to a press release sent out Tuesday afternoon, Genovese's resignation is effective immediately.

Last week, Weston Public Schools learned that Genovese's administration certificate had expired Aug. 12. While she had applied to get the certificate reinstated before it expired, it was discovered Genovese lacked certain credentials necessary for that to happen. Genovese found out about the situation around Aug. 23 and notified the school district last week.

Assistant Superintendent Kenneth Craw is currently serving as the temporary interim principal of Hurlbutt while the district seeks to find an interim principal to serve in that capacity for the rest of the school year, according to Brey's release. The district will begin looking for a full-time principal in January 2013, with a goal of hiring that person effective July 1, 2013.

This book really was a great read. And I bet his reading will be quite a performance too. Mr. BlackRead More is not only very, very funny, but very astute too. He's a screenwriter, so it shouldn't have surprised me to find that he is an excellent writer, but I was really impressed.
