Greek Honey Tasting Laboratory Workshop with Red Bee Apiary's Honey Sommelier Marina Marchese

Beekeeper and Honey Sommelier Marina Marchese will lead a tour of Red Bee Apiary, teaching guests how honeybees make this liquid gold we call honey. Participants will learn how location and nectar source determine a honey's color and flavor, and how honey is harvested and extracted from the hive. Afterwards, guests will gather at farmhouse style tables to taste and evaluate artisanal honeys.

This event will feature Mediterranean honeys such as camphorous thyme, forest pine and fir, and
healing chamomile. Each menu includes carefully orchestrated "Tasting Flights" of seven single-origin honeys and seven perfectly paired seasonal accompaniments: Greek yogurt, locally and estate-produced breads and cheeses are some of the complementary indulgences guests will sample while learning about the role of honey in Greek culture.

The cost is $35.00 per guest. RSVP and pre-payment are required to reserve your spot. All guests will receive a signed copy of Marina's book HONEYBEE (included in the price).
