No Through Traffic on Poverty Hollow Rd Starting 7 a.m. Tuesday

A repaving project on Poverty Hollow Road in Redding from Tuesday through Monday. Then, a bridge replacement on the same road in Newtown, June 9 to Aug. 15.

Because of a repaving project, Redding Highway and and Police departments have jointly announced on the town's website that Poverty Hollow Road will be closed to through traffic starting Tuesday, June 3 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The project is expected to continue through Monday, June 9.

"Only local traffic will be allowed as the Highway Department repaves the street," according to the announcement.

Also, from June 9 through Aug. 15, Newtown Highway Department will be replacing a bridge on Poverty Hollow Road in Newtown between Hopewell Woods and the Redding Town line. No traffic will be able to pass while the bridge is being replaced.
