Is Gov. Dannel P. Malloy on borrowed political time?

The Washington Post seems to think so. The newspaper has listed Malloy, a Democrat, on its list of governors most likely to lose re-election in 2014. The newspaper points to recent Quinnipiac University polls that show Malloy's popularity steadily waning in Connecticut and his likely challenger, Republican Tom Foley, gaining ground

"Malloy has had lukewarm numbers throughout his tenure, but given Connecticut’s blue hue, it was hard to call this race a toss-up – or anything close to it – until now," the Post says in his story. "We still give Malloy a slight edge, but Foley showed he’s a proven candidate in 2010 and Malloy hasn’t done much to suggest he’ll skate in 2014."

Malloy recently said he has not decided whether he will run for re-election next year, according to a report on the Litchfield County Times.

"I don’t expect to have any political capital lying around on any given day, week, month, year, term."
