Federal authorities set their sights on Southbury Training School as a location to temporarily house children who entered the United States illegally, but their request was turned down.

If the  U.S. General Services Administration’s New England regional offices had gotten their wish, up to 2,000 children from Central America who entered the United States illegally would have stayed in Southbury while being detained under the U.S. Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act, the CT Mirror reports.

Patrick M. O’Brien of the state Office of Policy and Management cited a number of reasons why the state could not provide assistance, including:

  • The school’s condition
  • Concerns about the people with developmental disabilities presently housed at the facility
  • State mandates requiring a period of public comments prior to a different use
  • Final sales approval from state boards, committees and the attorney general’s office

According to NBC Connecticut, all expenses would have been covered by the federal government, including maintenance of the school.

Those who rag on those who want the LAWS and our Borders respected (that we are inhumane or not 'compassionate') have no idea what they are talking about! What is "inhumane" is the actual conditions that these thousands of UACs are being penned up in by our own Federal Government!!!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Feds are doing everything possible to HIDE this Dirty Secret, but here is just one leaked example, in the included photo: http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2014/07/20/unaccompanied-alien-children-transfers-to-your-community-uac-research-where-are-the-illegal-aliens-and-unaccompanied-alien-minors-being-placed/

On TheBlaze TV they showed other photos of children by the hundreds, caged and sleeping with Red Cross blankets. Some photos have been smuggled out by Border Agents and others with the clout to get in and see what PBO's admin. is HIDING from US, and the world--which would be OUTRAGED at what is being done to these children!!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Someone who had seen the conditions, and was heart-broken over them, described how in one of the facilities near the border, children were wrenched away from siblings and put in segregated by age, glassed-in rooms with the age on the door. 4-yr. olds, 5-yr. olds, 6-yr. olds etc. No one is allowed to hug the children--and Catholic priests have been denied any access to them!!

This "heart-broken" man (would be fired if his name were known) got in to one of these horrendously overcrowded and INHUMANE U.S. facilities, where our Gov't is housing UACs. They are held there for weeks, until they are shipped out to other states.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------He gave this heart-wrenching example, showing that these children are being further endangered and damaged psychologically: A young child in the room came up to him, grabbed his fingers and plaintively asked "Will you take me home with you? Can I live in your home?"

and once again, they are ALIVE. You can give the soap suds side, Mac, but many of the little ones are living in better conditions than they were in Central America. and of course they are lonely. Parents are not there to comfort them. Relatives will be taking many of the children. The basics are being provided as quickly as possible. Food and Shelter. The quarantines will slowly be lifted. Love will continue sift thru.
