Two Stratford men were arrested New Year's Day in Orange when they got a bit too boistrious in their celebrating. Stamford Police made an arrest this week relating to an incident in which a man allegedly resolved a dispute by firing a gun into the ceiling of a restaurant vestibule. The man charged with the alleged crime was in possession of a pistol permit and several guns, police said.

In a crime that would probably only happen in winter, Norwalk police charged a man for allegedly attacking someone with an ice scraper. The suspect, a homeless man, had an ice scraper covered in the victim's blood in his possession at the time of his arrest, police said.

A woman was reportedly struck by a truck as it drove through a drive-thru ATM in Fairfield. According to police, the woman had waited for the truck to move (it was blocking the entrance to the ATM) before she decided to get out of her car and walk up to the window.

A man arrested for allegedly driving under the influence in Fairfield reportedly told police that it was bad pizza — not alcohol — that caused his poor driving.

A Naugatuck woman faked her own kidnapping in an attempt to get money from her boyfriend and hide the fact that she sold his car for $500 in drug money, according to police.

During the New Canaan-Darien high schools annual "Turkey Bowl" football game on Thanksgiving in Darien, someone went into the New Canaan locker room and urinated on the team's equipment. A backpack containing $20 also was reported stolen. Then on New Year's Eve, Darien police announced they'd arrested five former Darien High School students, charging them with the crimes. Two turned out to be the sons of the former first selectwoman and her husband, the present Democratic town chairman.

A woman who used to live in Redding was arrested three times in three days following a reported domestic struggle in which the male victim allegedly had to wrestle a loaded gun away from her.
