Emily Downer, 20, of Redding was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol while under 21 years old and failure to drive in the proper lane following a motor vehicle stop on Ridgefield Road in Wilton on Feb. 21 at 12:30 a.m.
According to Wilton Police, officers observed Downer swerving into the shoulder then back into the travel lane while she was heading north.
Upon stopping her, officers detected the odor of alcohol on her breath. Downer subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was taken in to custody. Her blood alcohol content was .161.
She was released on a promise to appear in court March 7.
