Weston Woman Faces DWI Charge

Greenwich Police say driver nearly hit pedestrians outside restaurant.

A female driver who a friend tried to drive home from a Riverside restaurant, faces a driving while intoxicated charge.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the 39-year-old woman was "intoxicated" and "disorderly" when officers first went to the J House, 1114 E. Putnam Ave., in the Riverside secton of Greenwich, shortly before midnight Oct. 18. Milissa Gorman, of 8 Wood Hill Rd., Weston, was issued an infraction for creating a public disturbance. A friend agreed to drive Gorman.

About a half-hour later police were called back to the restaurant because "Gorman had driven her car recklessly within the parking lot nearly striking pedestrians. After being told that police were called, Gorman left the area on foot," according to the report.

Gorman was found in a bank parking lot at the corner of East Putnam and Lockwood Lane. "She attempted to elude the officers but was caught between buildings," according to the report.

Gorman was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and interfering with an officer. She was released on a $250 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 26 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
