Weston Woman Charged with DUI in Redding

On Tuesday, April 10 at 4:19 p.m., responded to a report that there was a vehicle that was stopped in the middle of the roadway on Newtown Turnpike, near Cross Highway. Arriving at the scene, police found a motorist who was “completely disoriented and thought she was in Trumbull,” police said.

The woman—Bernice Keeney, 62, of Weston—failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breathalyzer test.

She was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. She was held on $100 bond and given an April 24 court date.

Road rage incident in Ridgefield

On Sunday, April 15 at 7:10 p.m., Redding Police assisted the Ridgefield Police department on Route 7 in response to a large altercation involving a motorcycle gang and another motorist. The altercation—relating to road rage—was broken up, and is under investigation by Ridgefield Police.

Verbal altercation at the Lumberyard Pub 

On Sunday, April 15 at 12:50 a.m., Redding Police responded to a report of an altercation at the Lumberyard Pub. According to police, the altercation had stopped by they time they’d arrived and no arrests were made.
