Weston Mother Arrested For Disorderly Conduct

Weston Police news, Sept. 7 through Sept. 12

Domestic incident

Melinda Betesh, 37, of Valley Forge Road, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 9 at 12:26 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, criminal mischief in the third degree, assault on a police officer and risk of injury to a minor.

According to police, Betesh's daughter told the Weston Police Department that her mother broke down a door yelling. Her daughter said she believed her mother was under the influence of alcohol.

Police arrived on the scene, and Betesh's daughter told police that "her mother [had] been out of rehab for approximately one month and [they] both had been sharing the same bedroom for a few nights."

According to police, Betesh's daughter thought her mother had been drinking and took her brother into a room and locked the door, because she was scared of her mother. Her mother, the daughter said, allegedly kicked down the door, according to police.

Police arrived on the scene and took Betesh into custody.

Police said Betesh spat on and grabbed the groin of a Weston Police officer, and when police tried to put her into the cruiser, she fell on the ground and screamed hysterically.

Bond was set at $5,000, which Betesh was unable to post, police said. She was taken to Norwalk Superior Court.
