Update: SUV Hits a Utility Pole in Weston

The driver fell asleep behind the wheel, according to police.

Update: Police said a 77-year-old Weston man fell asleep while driving north on Goodhill Road and swerved into the south bound lane and struck the base of a utility pole. CL&P was notified about the damaged pole.

Original Report: 

Weston police and firefighers responded to a one-vehicle-accident in the 200-block of Goodhill Road at around 3:14 Tuesday afternoon and Weston EMS transported the driver to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Weston Volunteer Fire Department.

Deputy Fire Chief Terry Blake said the SUV sheared through a utility pole, adding the vehicle sustained significant damage.
