Sanford Sentenced to Three Months in Jail

Redding's former highway superintendent was sentenced to jail for stealing from the town.

Redding's former highway superintendent has been sentenced to five years in jail, suspended after three months, according to The Redding Pilot.

After pleading not guilty to various crimes in 2011, Bruce Sanford pleaded guilty to larceny in the first degree after he allegedly defrauded the town of Redding out of more than $20,000. 

According to The Pilot, Sanford must also pay the town's $1,000 insurance deductible and serve 250 hours of community service.
