[Updated] Ridgefield Woman Dies in Redding Car Crash

The woman was pronounced dead at Danbury Hospital on Saturday after she was injured in a three-car accident on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as 

Redding police have said that no charges have been filed and that they are still investigating the incident, but that charges are anticipated. 

The driver of the second car has been identified as Geraldo Araujo, 50, of Danbury. The third vehicle's operator has been identified as Misty Enright, 33, of Stamford, according to Redding Police. 


Update on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The name of the victim will not be released until at least Monday, according to the Redding Police Department.

A Ridgefield resident was pronounced dead at Danbury Hospital on Saturday after she was injured in a three-vehicle accident on Route 7 in Redding on Friday, according to Chief Douglas Fuchs of the .

The woman, whose name is not being released until all family members have been notified, was traveling southbound on Route 7 when she was struck head-on by a vehicle traveling northbound, which crossed over into the southbound lane, according to a statement released by Chief Fuchs. The driver, who had to be extricated from her vehicle, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Danbury Hospital.

The two occupants of the northbound vehicle were also transported to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Fuchs. The driver of the third vehicle was not injured. The crash is still under investigation by officers of Redding PD's Major Accident Investigation Team.

and Fire Departments responded and transported all patients to the hospital.
