Depsite the two burglaries, Fuchs said the Redding Police Department increases its presence during the power outages which plagued Redding for more than a week.
"We try to maintain a high profile," he said. "If we lose that profile we become a target."
Fuchs said officers made a motor vehicle stop on Danbury Road at 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31 after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle.
"It looks like the officer probably prevented a burglary," Fuchs said, adding the individuals stopped in that incident "have an extensive criminal history."
On Tuesday morning, Police there say the accused allegedly burglarized a house in Redding. Fuchs said he couldn't comment on whether it was one of these two burglaries, as the investigation is ongoing.
