Redding Police Help Secure Bipolar Suicidal Man

Redding Police news, Feb. 27 through March 3.

Redding Police helped take in to custody a 20-year-old Fairfield man who was allegedly en route to Redding to kill himself. The incident occurred on March 1 at 1:42 p.m.

According to police, officers assisted the Easton and Weston Police Departments, as well as Aquarion Police, in locating the man, who is allegedly bipolar. Weston Police apprehended him near Devils Glen Park in northern Weston.

He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Redding Police responded to a one-car rollover accident on Cross Highway, near the intersection of Sanfordtown Road, on March 1 at 10:37 a.m.

Police said Armstrong Batteau-Robinson, 20, of Westport was heading east on Cross Highway when he went off the right side of the road, hit an embankment and rolled over, landing on the westbound shoulder.

Batteau-Robinson was issued an infraction for travelling too fast and failure to carry insurance. He was taken to Danbury Hospital.
