Underage drinking party in Redding
broke up what appeared to be a high school graduation party with underage drinking after receiving a phone call reporting it on Sunday, June 24 at 10:57 p.m.
According to police, officers responded to an Old Stagecoach Road residence and found a keg of beer and a bonfire. It appeared as though many of the approximately 30 youths had been drinking, police said. All of the youths’ parents were notified.
Laurie Beatty, 49, of Old Stagecoach Road was charged with hosting an underage drinking party, as she was present at the residence and aware of what was going on.
On Wednesday, June 20, a Long Ridge Road resident reported to police that he was cleaning his garage and moved his snowblower out to the front of the house. Someone then stole it around 2:47 p.m., police said.
On Thursday, June 21 at 10:23 a.m., Redding Police learned that a student had stolen a violin from the Redding Elementary School.
A 55-year-old Weston male was charged with strangulation in the third degree and breach of peace following an altercation with his girlfriend at the Lumberyard Pub on Wednesday, June 20 at 3:46 p.m. According to police, the girlfriend reported the incident at the police station. The man subsequently turned himself in to police and was given a June 21 court date.
On Thursday, June 21 at 11:04 a.m., a Pine Mountain Road resident reported there was forced entry into their home. The case remains under investigation, and the homeowner hadn’t finishing tabulating the list of everything stolen.
A 20-year-old Stratford man was issued an infraction ticket for possession of marijuana following a Redding Road motor vehicle stop on Friday, June 22 at 12:27 a.m. According to police, Daniel Bellaro’s vehicle smelled like marijuana, and police subsequently found a small quantity of marijuana inside the vehicle.
