Redding Police Are Cracking Down on Cell Phones, Seatbelts Today

Cell phone and seatbelt check
Along with the Bethel, Brookfield and Newtown Police Departments, Redding Police will be conducting seatbelt and cell phone enforcement this week. Officers from all four departments will be conducting checks in Redding today from 7 to 1 p.m. The additional enforcement is paid for through a grant from the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
Failure to appear

On Friday, Nov. 25 at 11:20 a.m., Raymond Cardona, 20, of Bridgeport turned himself in on a failure to appear warrant. The original charge was the result of a rolling domestic incident, where Cardona was charged with breach of peace on North Park Avenue in December 2010.
He was released on a $100 bond and given a Dec. 8 court date.

Burglary
On Monday, Nov. 21 at 5:20 p.m., police received a report from a resident on Sport Hill Road that a small amount of cash and jewelry was taken from their home. There were no signs of forced entry, and the case remains under investigation.
