Yes, Eileen, income is income. Per Code Section 61 "income means all income from whatever source derived". So that means whether the income is legally earned, i.e. wages, interest, dividends or illegally earned i.e. embezzlement, sales of drugs, prostitution, theft......... Should people engaged in illegal activities not pay to support the country they live in? That is how Al Capone ended up in prison!
