No Charges for Theft Of Hay from Silverman's Farm

Irv Silverman's generosity spared a woman from being arrested in the theft of a bale of hay from Silverman's Farm on Sport Hill Road Oct. 12, but she was charged for an unregistered vehicle.

Police said an officer caught the 59-year-old Bridgeport woman in the act of stealing the hay, adding she admitted it after her car was pulled over. But then Silverman declined to press charges and made arrangements to sell the hay to the woman, according to the report.

Police said the vehicle's registration had expired in February.
