House Party with Teen Drinking Lands Two In Hospital

EASTON — Two teenage girls at a house party with underage drinking on Meadow Ridge Drive Saturday night were brought to the hospital for medical treatment, according to police, who said the homeowner was issued a summons for permitting the possession of alcohol by a minor.

Police said Gail Estime, age 55, was home at the time of the party and signed a written promise to appear in court on Oct. 31.

Officers responding to a noise complaint at the address at 10:11 p.m. encountered many cars parked on both sides of the roadway and could hear the party from the road, according to the report.

As officers approached, they observed a number of youths who appeared to be of high school age and beer bottles and cans from the party were scattered about the property, police said.

Police said the officers were led to a female in the backyard of the residence, who was being assisted in walking by two other females. The 17-year-old was conscious, but unable to walk, police said, adding the officers contacted Easton EMS to treat the "incapacitated female".

While waiting for the ambulance a second female, also age 17, was found unresponsive inside the house, so a second ambulance was called to the scene, police said.

Both teens were transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.

In questioning several youths at the residence police learned that all of the party goers were underage, 16 and 17 years old from both Easton and Redding, according to the report.

Police said officers seized a quantity of beer and liquor from the scene.
