Redding: A neighbor needs your help.
On Sunday night, around 9:51 p.m., received a call that fireworks were being shot near Werf Drive. Laura Lanehart, who lives on Picketts Ridge Road, said the fireworks frightened her six-year-old dog, Belle, who then got scared and ran away.
She "ran off on Sunday night due to neighbors shooting off fireworks. It wasn't even the 4th of July," Lanehart told Patch. "We always keep the pets in around the 4th, but we were totally unprepared for Sunday's pyrotechnics. She is very scared of thunder storms and fireworks. She is my best girl and has been with me through thick and thin."
Lanehart described Belle as spayed, about 45 pounds, medium-sized with a medium-length coat.
"She is part of my family," Lanehart said.
Those with any information or possible sightings of the dog should contact the Redding Animal Control Officer at 203-938-2525.
