"The most important "asset" is the well-being of one's family, not material objects. Find a way to protect your life and that of your family - things are just things to which we give artificial meaning. The homeowners are very very lucky to be alive. When intruders enter a home they know is occupied they usually enter with weapons and are not afraid to use them. The lesson here is not a "stuff" but about our own vulnerability." -

"With all due respect to the family as this is a terrible thing to happen, I don't know if "tragic" is the operative word. A poor choice of action and I wonder if alcohol was involved. You'd have to go headfirst for it to be fatal." -

"No matter the intent or the circumstances, it is truly tragic whenever a life is lost- life is a most precious gift. It is most tragic for the family that is left to deal with it. My condolences and prayers go to the family." -

"Surely, there must be a way. For goodness sakes, NYC manages to have safe bus stops amidst much more feverish car and pedestrian traffic, and last I checked, there weren't 8 million people living in Shelton. :)" -

"How can the price of gas "keep rising" if it is lower than it was a year ago. In fact, the price of gasoline fluctuates with the price of oil, which fluctuates with supply and demand. As the economic outlook is brighter, the price of oil goes up, assuming greater future demand." -

"Yeh, lets all go to a town meeting and when our half brain dead town officials get through telling each other how great they are then lets schedule another meeting to waste more time and accomplish nothing. It’s a pool FIX IT! Where is the leadership from First Selectman Vavrek that we were all were promised. Is he lost in the deep end, that is over his head again?" -

"If that's the case...why are there so many shootings in New Haven, Bridgeport & Hartford? DeStefano said the murder rate went down. But he didn't admit the shootings have gone up. There's more woundings because the gangs can't shoot straight! The answer..Parent/s: heads up! tighten your controls on your children! Leave the 2nd ammendment alone." -
