Redding, we have an opportunity … let's not miss it!

Redding police Sgt. Anthony Signore will be leaving his position in Redding’s police department.

Redding’s police department currently has 17 cops and a $2.2M annual budget.  It is overstaffed by 3 to 4 officers and over budgeted by $500K – $800K.

We now have the opportunity to start reducing this huge tax burden, which has been placed on Redding’s residents by the previous town administration and the current police management.

Stop Redding police chief Douglas Fuchs who “said he is working on filling the vacant position left by Mr. Signore”!

Redding has no crime and the Georgetown commercial district has never been realized and it looks like it never will!  Yet, Fuchs has been forcing Redding’s taxpayers to pay for cops hired to serve that need for almost a decade now.  There is no need or justification to hire anyone to fill this position, which is unjustified and unnecessary.

Please call Redding’s First Selectman Julia Pemberton, at (203) 938-2002 or email her jpemberton@townofreddingct.org and Second Selectman Leon Karvelis, miscer@optonline.net, and ask them to stop Fuchs from continuing to burden us with unjustified and unnecessary spending to maintain his empire.

We have an opportunity to start correcting this fiscal irresponsibility placed on our backs and on our properties.
