Historical Society To Open Adams Schoolhouse in Easton

The following is a letter to the editor sent by Emlyn Duemmler.

To the Editor:

Please join the Historical Society of Easton as we ring in the Holiday Season with a special Holiday Open House which will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the historic one-room Adams Schoolhouse at 345 Westport Road in Easton.

An exhibit of early 20th Century vintage holiday cards from the Society’s collection will be displayed in the school house. Children and their families are invited to make holiday crafts and enjoy hot cider and sweet treats.

A brief Annual Meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. to discuss the 2012 Financial Report and future plans for the Society as well as elect Board Members for the 2012-2013 Fiscal Year. Carolers from Joel Barlow High School’s Select Choir will close the holiday festivities with song and good cheer!

In the spirit of the season of helping others, the Society is accepting non-perishable food donations to replenish local food pantries and provide for those in need. Won’t you help us and fill Adams Schoolhouse to the rafters with canned goods?
