Glenn Van Deusen Appointed to Weston's Zoning Board of Appeals

The Weston Board of Selectman appointed Glenn Van Deusen to fill a Republican vacancy on the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) on June 5.  Glenn has served as an alternate on ZBA since November, 2011.  Britta Lerner, Chair of the Weston Republican Town Committee, said that she expects Glenn to make a seamless transition to the full board position.  “Glenn Van Deusen has proven time and again that he is dedicated to serving the best interests of Weston.  He clearly understands the key issues surrounding Weston land use.  Glenn was a committed ZBA Alternate and now Weston is fortunate to have his expertise at work as a full member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.  We are grateful for his service.”

Glenn, his wife, Diana, and two sons have made Weston their home for nearly twenty years.  Glenn is an active member of the Weston Republican Town Committee, St. Francis of Assisi Church and Weston Kiwanis where he serves as on the Board of Trustees and Chairs Philanthropy.  He is also a Weston Block Captain on the Emergency Services Team.  Glenn is the President and co-founder of Van Deusen & Levitt Associates, Inc. a global brand strategy and design company headquartered in Westport.

In accepting the ZBA appointment, Glenn said, “I appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve the Town of Weston on the ZBA to help ensure that the special character and charm of Weston that make it such a special place is preserved.”  The Board is responsible for considering the rights of the individual property owner versus zoning regulations and the needs of the community for the orderly and appropriate use of land, and granting variances when exceptional difficulty or unusual hardships exist.
