Agenda 21 in Redding

Agenda 21 was born at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in 1992 in Rio Di Janeiro.  George H.W. Bush Senior endorsed it by signing onto the plan and Bill Clinton signed an executive order to deploy Agenda 21 in the United States .

 At first glance, the plan appears like a logical agenda to protect the environment but closer scrutiny reveals something far more nefarious. Among its many tenets are:  A one world global government that calls for the end of national sovereignty, the end of private property, restructuring of the family unit and the usurpation of individual rights to that of the collective. It also calls for citizens to be herded from rural areas into urban ones.

All of the aforementioned tenets are unconstitutional, but that appears to be a minor side issue for many in our government. Perhaps it is the friendly sounding vernacular in Agenda 21 such as green, sustainability and smart growth that lulls politicians into believing it’s a good idea. Or could it be that the generous funding and grants dolled out have something to do with their unquestioning allegiance to it?    

Under the precepts of Agenda 21 in Connecticut, regional planning boards are appointed and circumvent any input by the voter altogether. The problem with this clever arrangement is that these unelected boards are unconstitutional as they supplant local and state powers.

 Here in Redding, Agenda 21 is being deployed under a blur of indecipherable acronyms, one of which is HVCEO, inclusive of 10 other Connecticut towns. These regional planning boards ostensibly address such problems as land use and transportation issues. Presently, the state is presently pushing for HVCEO to merge with SWRPA, which encompasses another set of towns.

 If the two groups can’t come to an agreement by the end of December, 2013, the towns will lose state funding and the state will step in by force and do the merging for them. Apparently, under the velvet glove of Agenda 21, sits a not so friendly iron fist.
