James Dade Squiers, 85, passed away November 4, 2012.

James Dade Squiers, 85, of Redding, passed away peacefully November 4, 2012. 

He was the devoted husband for 56 years of the late Virginia Barrie Squiers, beloved father of Priscilla A. Squiers and her husband E. Kyle Minor of Danbury, cherished grandfather of Kieran, Olivia, Arden and Viola and esteemed first cousin of Lynn Dade Odell of Somers, NY. 

A Tarrytown, NY, native, he was the son of the late John M. and Helen Odell Squiers and the half-brother of the late John M. Squiers, Jr.  He graduated from the Hackley School and Kenyon College, served in the U.S. Naval Reserve and enjoyed a long career with Bankers Trust Company.

A lifelong choral singer and a past member of the Male Glee Club of Yonkers, he also enjoyed reading, weather watching, his canine companions and his home in Nova Scotia.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held at First Church of Christ Congregational, 25 Cross Highway, Redding CT on Saturday, December 8 at 11 am.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. For info and online guestbook, please go to Magnerfuneralhome.com
