Champagne for a Cause!

Charity Champagne Tasting at Saugatuck Grain & Grape in Westport to benefit the community for Newtown/Sandy Hook! Sat., Dec. 22nd, 3:00-6:00pm

As we all know, the community, our neighbors, of Sandy Hook and Newtown were rocked by the tragedy that occurred last Friday. 26 beautiful souls have left us. They won't be home with their families during this holiday season, their gifts will remain under the Christmas Tree, unopened, their smiling faces void at the dinner table, and their families hearts broken forever. We as a community owe the victims families an attempt of warmth and normalcy moving forward during this holiday season and beyond, that's essential fabric that resides in the definition of community.

We are have all been touched in various ways by this horrific tragedy. Many of us are looking for ways to help. One of my most valued customers and best friends, Saugatuck Grain & Grape, will be holding a charity champagne tasting this Saturday, the 22nd, in Westport. A significant portion of the proceeds will be donated to the United Way charity that has been set up to benefit the community of Sandy Hook.

I cannot think of a more honorable cause to support during this holiday season. I would strongly urge our community to stop in, donate the $5 (or more) at the door, and come taste an absolutely amazing line up of Champagnes. 10% of any purchases will be donated as well as the $5 tasting fee.

Saugatuck Grain & Grape is located at 40 Railroad Place, at the Westport Trainstation. The tasting will go from 3-6ish. You can find Saugatuck Grain & Grape on Facebook or twitter @grainNgrape. Link to CTbites.com feature on fundraiser

Why is it the panel for this event does not include a single advocate for gun-owners' rights? WithRead More all due respect to Chief McNamara, why does the panel no include a person who can speak to gun safety from a gun-owning civilian's perspective? ML, you claim that the assembled folks "do not offer judgements about gun ownership" but they are not including a single voice that can offer perspective on gun ownership. I have been to "education" sessions sponsored by Meg's March for Change and they are one-sided indoctrinations into gun control advocacy. >>>> I was in Hartford for the public hearings in January when both Meg and March co-founder Nancy gave their personal testimonies and they all but threatened the legislators on the panel with election day retribution for all those who did not tow the gun-control line of thinking (i.e. March and CAGV). To suggest that Meg "does not offer judgements" if fallacious at best, disingenuous at worst.
