REGISTER NOW for Mad Hatters Art/Music/Theatre Classes at Molten Java!

6-week session begins Monday, November 4th! We will be accepting registrations in person on Saturday, October 26th during Bethel’s Trick-or-Treat Street. Looking for something for your son or daughter to do to fight the winter doldrums? Then sign them up for classes in art, music or theatre at Mad Hatter’s Arts Studio, just upstairs from Molten Java on Greenwood Avenue in Bethel.  There’s something for everyone!

~MESSY MONDAYS – Preschool & KG - 9:30-10:30am: Toddlers and preschoolers will stimulate their senses in this interactive art class that is truly “hands-on.” Each week they will use a different material and explore textures, scents and the sounds that go along with creating mini masterpieces. Enjoy a nice, hot cup ‘o’ Joe downstairs at Molten Java and get in that much deserved “Me Time” while your child explores their inner Piccaso.

6 classes on: 11/4, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2, 12/9, 12/16. Cost is $95 which includes a supply fee.

~TUNEFUL TUESDAYS – Preschool & KG - 9:30-10:30am: Cultural Music & Movement from around the world! Your child will shake, shimmy & share dances from different countries in this engaging class. Children will shake maracas, click rhythm sticks & bang the drums as they dance to the beats of Africa (week 1), China (week 2), Ireland (week 3), Spain (week 4), Germany (week 5), India (week 6).

6 classes on: 11/4, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2, 12/9, 12/16. Cost is $90.

~KID’s THEATRE THURSDAYS - Preschool & KG  - 9:30-10:30am: Kids will learn a little bit of this and a little bit of that in this introductory class of musical theatre, Children will learn popular songs and beginning acting skills on Theatre Thursdays!

6 classes on: 11/7, 11/14, 11/21, 12/5, 12/12, 12/19. Cost is $90.

———-> FOR GRADE SCHOOL KIDS:

-WACKY WEDNESDAY PUPPET MAKING -   1st – 5th grade 4:45-5:45 p.m.Using different fabrics, textures and repurposed materials, students will create their own puppet characters. Each week they will add detail to give their creations personality and life.

6 classes on: 11/6, 11/13, 11/20, 12/27, 12/4, 12/11. Cost is $110 which includes a supply fee.

~HATTER’s HAMS THURSDAYS - 1st – 5th grade 4:45-5:45 p.m.: Give your kids a chance to let loose and ham it up at Hatter’s Hams Theatre Troupe. We will explore physical comedy, improv and do theatre games in this fun, interactive class. Kids in grades 1-6 are welcome to learn basic acting skills and try their hand at comedic acting. A mini performance will be held for parents at the end of the session.

6 classes on: 11/7, 11/14, 11/21, 12/5, 12/12, 12/19. Cost is $90.

——->  JUST FOR TEENS:

~TEEN STREET THEATRE TUESDAYS – Teens in 6th – 12th – 6:00-7:00 p.m.: What is street theatre? Funny you should ask. Street theatre is theater for presentation in outdoor public. These outdoor venues can be anywhere from parking lots to street corners, from sidewalks to festivals. Actors wear simple costumes and use props with little or no sound amplification in this stripped down theatre form. Physical comedy, dance, mime and improv are all included in this slapstick form of performing art.  This class is for teens in grades 7-12. A mini street performance will be held at the end of the session.
