"Music in Nature:" Chamber Chorus Concert

The Music on the Hill Chamber Chorus will perform "Music in Nature," featuring Aaron Copland's In the Beginning and Paul Hindemith's Six Chansons, with Artistic Director David H. Connell conducting.  Tickets:  $20 at the door or reserve in advance at tickets@musiconthehillct.org.

The Chamber Chorus is a professional 16-voice ensemble founded in 2012 by Music on the Hill's Artistic Directors, Connell and Ellen Dickinson.  The group made a notable debut in May of that year with a performance of Brahms'  Liebeslieder Waltzes (Love Song Waltzes) with piano four-hands.  The Chamber Chorus has performed a capella works by Walton, Glass, and Klatzow, among others, and is currently featured in fall and spring concerts.

The "Music in Nature" concert takes advantage of the sriking architecture of the Victor Lundy-designed Unitarian Church, with its glass walls opening onto a woodland setting.

Music on the Hill creates opportunities to engage with music by offering workshops, concerts, and four performing ensembles:  a community handbell choir (Jubilate Ringers) and three choral group (Chamber Chorus, Festival Chorus, and Summer Chorus).  To learn more about Music on the Hill's programming, visit its Facebook page
