Neither Party Dominates in Battles for Weston Boards

Though Weston's election did not feature a first selectman race, a number of candidates won positions on boards and commissions Tuesday night.

Incumbent Britta Ann Lerner (R) garnered 1,270 votes to keep her seat on the Planning & Zoning Commission. Others winning seats were Sally Korsh (D) (1,225) and Thomas Failla (R) (1,163).

Howard Aibel (D) fell short with 1,104 votes.

Republican Elise A. Major had the most votes (1,272), but Democrats still managed to win two of the three contested Board of Education seats. Denise Harvey, an incumbent, (1,271) won and Sara P. Spaulding (1,208) will serve with her.

Christopher Moore, a Republican, didn't make it with 1,102 votes.

Marina Coprio, an incumbent Democrat, beat Republican Ryan Cornell for a contested seat on the Board of Assessment Appeals 1,031 to 1,004.

Hillary S. Koyner, a Republican, won the right to finish a two-year-term on the Board of Assessment Appeals over Rob Nordlinger (D) 1,064 to 965.

All three Democrats running for the Board of Finance won: Richard A. Bochinski (1,279), Melissa Zales Koller (1,270) and Allan Grauberd (1,195). Incumbent Republican, Patrice P. Kopas, fell short (1,141).

All other candidates were unopposed.
