UI is suspending in-air operations to repair powerlines, per spokesperson Michael West Jr:
"Yes, service is being suspended in general," West said. "It is a requirement for our crews not to work above ground when the wind exceeds 40 mph."
This isn't just UI protocol, according to West. This is a safety concern that is required by the federal government.
Currently, there are 810 customers without power in Easton -- or 28.31 percent of UI's Easton base.
