Fuel Report: Lowest Gas Price Around $3.62

We're all feeling it: Unrest in the Middle East can yield higher gas prices. Let's help each other find the least expensive stations around.

In Connecticut, the average gallon of regular gasoline costs $3.74, according to AAA's "Fuel Gauge Report," with the mid-grade at $3.85, premium at $3.97 and diesel at $4.11.

Things are bad, but could be worse: The highest-ever recorded price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the Nutmeg State was $4.39 — on July 9, 2008.

Still, the current figures mark a rise over last week and last month, with the week-ago prices for the same fuel at $3.65, $3.76, $3.87 and $4.02 — and the month-ago prices at $3.34, $3.45, $3.57 and $3.71.

Amazingly, one year ago, a gallon of gas in Connecticut would cost, on average, $2.91, with mid-grade at $3.16, premium at $3.24 and diesel at $3.16.

If you're planning to fill your gas tank up today, we're saving you the search around town with a list of where you can get the cheapest gas. Here's a look, and be sure to give us tips on cheaper gas in the area in the Comments section below:

This book really was a great read. And I bet his reading will be quite a performance too. Mr. BlackRead More is not only very, very funny, but very astute too. He's a screenwriter, so it shouldn't have surprised me to find that he is an excellent writer, but I was really impressed.
