The News-Times gave a "tantalizing" review of Bodega Taco Bar after visiting the new Fairfield-based restaurant this week.
Opened and operated by Chef Michael Young, Melanie Barnard described the restaurant's menu as "intriguing and highly original." Bodega, located on 1700 Post Road, serves a combination of Latin American and Mexican "beach" food, which includes both soft and crispy tacos, tortas, burgers, salads, main entreés and desserts. Barnard also praised the restaurant's "sizeable" tequila and Mexican beer list.
Chef Young is already well-known in southern Fairfield County for his other restaurant, in Norwalk, which was profiled in Food Network TV's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," Norwalk Patch and The New York Times.
“They always have something interesting on the menu," guest Jason Howard back in January.
Some of the tortas served at Valenica, according to Barnard, will also be served at Bodega. Highlights on the menu for Barnard included the Bodega burger, the slow-roasted pork with chipotle sauce and garlic mojo patacones and guacamole with freshly fried chips.
